Alta - The Town of the Nortern Lights

Alta lies deep inside Altafjord in Finnmark and it is the county's biggest town. You have a good chance of witnessing the spectacular Aurora Borealis and for this reason is Alta called also the Town of the Northern Lights.

Transport:
If you are travelling to Alta by car, take the E6. There are daily bus connections between Tromsø and Alta. Flying is a faster alternative, and there are daily departures to and from Tromsø and Oslo.
